What to feed a hungry child when your mind draws a blank?

Well Lucy Burneys books step into fill the void. It is especially good if you don't want to give your child heaps of wheat, dairy and sugar laden foods and want "easy alternatives to nutrient-deficient, processed foods." She offers a wonderfully balanced approach. The first book of hers that i bought was "Optimum Nutrition for Babies and Young Children" and i return to it again and again when i need quick, easy and healthy ideas. It gives reassuring advice on good nutrition for babies and young children and guidelines on breastfeeding and weaning your child. It also provides information on allergies and how to avoid them and delicious meal plans from first foods to recipes for toddlers.

I also loved her second book called "Boost Your Child's Immune system".
It has immune boosting recipes for babies through to teenagers, includes information about how to deal with infections naturally and avoid antibiotics, gives the pros and cons of vaccinations for children, easy to follow meal plans and delicious recipes for the whole family.

Her website ww.lucyburney.co.uk is a great resource if you just want some ideas and don't want to immediately rush out and buy the books.
